A balloon popping. A baby crying. A car honking. There are many different sounds in our everyday life. Every sounds has a unit decibel to tell how loud it is. The normal hearing that is comfortable is from 0dB to 60dB.It has been said that 130 dB can cause damage to your hearing. A 130dB sound is around a jackhammer’s sound. Even just a ballon popping, can be in the 150 range for decibels. A symphony or concert is already in the 140 dB range. Maybe that is why Beethoven became deaf.
