What is Forensics? (Forensics 1)

Forensics

The direct definition from Merriam Webster (dictionary) is “relating to the use of scientific knowledge or methods in solving crimes”.

Forensics is used worldwide to resolve criminal cases, enforce laws and government regulations, and to protect the community around you. In a forensics lab or a crime scene, scientists would use systems like blood types, fingerprint testing, hair analysis, odontology or (study of teeth), and many other intricate ways. The next few weeks, I will be taking a forensics class at my school and will write about what we learned each day.
