In 1987, Curt Jones, a graduate from Southern Illinois University invented an ice cream snack called Dippin’ Dots. Dippin’ Dots are created by flash freezing ice cream mix in liquid nitrogen.

- The temperature for the cryogenic freezing of the ice cream is 320 below zero.
- The freezer holds 12.5 billion dots at 40 degrees below zero. The whole room is practically covered with ice!
- Dippin’ Dots has travelled over seas to other countries such as Japan, Greece, and Russia
