Craig Virgin, an American distance runner, came to my school to give a talk on running. He was very inspiring and gave great tips in running cross country both physically and mentally.
Craig Virgin’s most well-known win in a cross-country championship was in Paris. The last 1/2 meters he caught up to 1st place, which was very impressive.
Craig Virgin said that when he started cross-country he wrote a journal recording his times for each run that he ran. This helped him improve each time because he set a goal for the next run.
After the talk, Mr.Virgin signed a card for me! I really took a lot from this lecture. I have learned that accepting other’s successes and trying to overpass those goals by yourself is important.
