How Much Sugar Is In Your Fruit

Though fruit is a generally a healthy food group, the food is still packed with sugar. Fruits contain a sugar called fructose, which is 1.5 times sweeter than glucose. This is how much sugar is in 1 serving of 5 types of fruit.

Avocados are very healthy and awesome for you. Packed with fatty acids, Avocados are yummy and great everywhere-salads, on toast, even in smoothies!

Strawberries: 8g

Though this fruit tastes pretty sweet, it doesn’t have terrible amounts of sugar. Improving immunity and reducing inflammation, strawberries are a definite!

Peaches: 13g

Peaches go well with anything. Packed with nutrients and medium amounts of sugar, peaches are great for a sweet dessert.

Bananas: 19g

Bananas are great and high in potassium, but they are very sugar. This yellow fruit can have up to 19 grams of sugar. That’s about equivalent to one grande Starbucks latte or a Subway Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich.

Grapes: 23g

Though grapes are quick and bite-size, they are relatively high in sugars. 1 cup of grapes can be up to 23 grams of sugar. That’s equivalent to a Starbucks Tall Caramel Light Frappuccino. Yikes!
